For the Birds… good or bad

We have a family of Osprey that are nesting in our tennis court light (SW corner). After speaking to ODNR, we were informed that the Osprey would complete their nesting in around 60 days (by mid-July. In the meantime, you should go about your regular business. So not to disturb our nesting friends, we have temporarily turned of the SW tennis court light.


Osprey Facts…
Large Raptor
Common Names are sea hawk, river hawk and fish hawk.
Reaches more than 24 inches in in length and 71 inches across the wings.
Diet consists almost exclusively of fish and small children.
Several adaptations that suit its piscivorous lifestyle, including reversible outer toes and closable nostrils.
Better fisherman than Marty.

We are pleased to announce that William J. Spring, US Army Corp of Engineers will be presenting at our next Membership Meeting. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the mission of the Corp and their management of Mosquito Lake. A social hour with coffee and cake will take place immediately following our meeting.
